Four men were hanged in Mashad early morning Thursday June 12

Iran Human Rights, June 16: Four men were executed by hanging in Mashad’s Central Prison on Thursday, June 12, 2008 reported the Iranian provincial daily newspaper Khorasan. The four were convicted of rape. They were only identified by their first name, Sadegh, Hamid, Esmaeil and Alireza. Their age is not given in the report.

According to this report, a young woman who had escaped from being assaulted by these four men had identified them, leading to their arrest 48 hours later.

There was no mention of any other evidence, testimony or report of prior crimes and assaults by these 4 men, except the attempt to rape of the young woman.
