Iran Executions: Man Hanged at Ardabil Prison

Iran Human Rights (IHR); June 12, 2019: A prisoner who allegedly killed two policemen, was executed at the Iranian city of Ardabil’s prison.
According to the Iranian judiciary's news website, Mizan Online, the unnamed prisoner was executed on Wednesday, June 12. One of the judiciary authorities told Mizan, “while police ordered him to stop his vehicle, he was smuggling antiques and cultural heritage. He refused to stop and shot and killed two policemen and two civilians instead.” Therefore, he was sentenced to qisas (retribution in kind).
At least 188 prisoners were executed for murder charges in 2018.

#مهدی_رنجبران، ۴۸ ساله و پدر دو فرزند، صبح یکشنبه ۱۹ مهر ۱۴۰۵ در زندان مرکزی سمنان اعدام شد. او با اتهام «قتل عمد» به قصاص نفس محکوم شده بود.

#مسعود_خدایاری و #بهنام_مظفرزاده، دو زندانی اهل لاهیجان، صبح یکشنبه ۱۹ مهر ۱۴۰۵ در زندان مرکزی رشت، لاکان، اعدام شدند. آن‌ها در پرونده‌های جداگانه با اتهامات مربوط به مواد مخدر به اعدام محکوم شده بودند.
