Iran: Two Men Executed Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

Iran Human Rights (IHR); March 15, 2020: While Iranian people are suffering from a nation-wide Coronavirus outbreak, the authorities are busy with executing prisoners.

According to Iran Human Rights (IHR) sources, two prisoners were hanged on Thursday, March 12, at the central prison of Urmia, West Azerbaijan province.

They have been identified as Hossein Kachnanlou (60) and Abdollah Mohammadzadeh (70), both were sentenced to death for murder charges.

Executions in Iran have continued to be carried out even after the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the country. Even holding a funeral for the executed people is not possible at this time.
