One man was hanged in the northwestern Iran today

Iran Human Rights, June 4: One man was hanged in the town of Mianeh, in northwest Iranian province of East Azerbaijan.

According to the state run Iranian news agency the man was identified as "Jalil B." (36) was convicted of drug trafficking and keeping 4,5 Kg crack and 200 gram opium. He was hanged earlier today in the prison of Mianeh said the report.

According to the analysis by Iran Human Rights, number of the executions have been incerasing as we approach the first anniversary of the disputed presidential elections and start of the pro-democracy uprising in Iran.
