One man was lashed 173 times and then hanged in a prison west of Tehran yesterday September 16

Iran Human Rights, September 17: One man was hanged in the Khoran prison of Varamin (west of Tehran) yesterday September 16th reported the Iranian state broadcasting.

The man who was identified as Amin (25) was convicted of kidnap and rape or attempt to rap in several different cases according to the report. The local court has sentenced him to twice hanging, 25 years in prison and 173 lashes, and the sentence was approved by the Supreme Court. According to the reports Amin was scheduled to be hanged in public, but due to the security reasons the prosecutor decided to carry out the execution inside the prison.

Yesterday morning, Amin was hanged after being lashed 173 times in the prison of Varamin, said the report.
