Iran Human Rights is concerned about the arrest of the death row political prisoner Habibillah Latifi’s family members- 20 Kurdish activists arrested
Iran Human Rights, December 27: According to reliable sources in Sanandaj, several members of the death row political prisoner Habibillah Latifi’s family were arrested by the Iranian security officers on Sunday.
According to these sources the security agents entered the house and confiscated computers and documents and brutaly arrested eight memberss of Habibollah’s family. His parents and several of his siblings were among those arrested. At least 20 Kurdish activists were also arrested in Sanandaj yesterday.
Iran Human Rights condemns the recent arrests in Sanandaj. Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of Iran Human Rights, expressed concern about the security of Mr.
Latifi and his family and said: " We must remember that Mr. Latifi’s execution was just postponed and we don’t know for how long". He added: " It is possible that Mr. Latifi’s family members were arrested in an effort to silence them while the authorities carry out the execution". Amiry-Moghaddam ended: " We ask the world community to follow Mr. Latifi’s case closely and maintain the pressure on the Iranian authorities".
