Iran Human Rights, January 12: According to the reports from Iran, eight men were hanged in Tehran’s Evin prison early this morning.
Seven of the men were convicted of drug trafficking, while one man was hanged convicted of rape according to the reports.
Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of Iran Human Rights, once again asked the international community to react to the execution wave going on in Iran. He said: "These executions are not only meant to spread fear among the Iranian people, but they are also an attack on humanity and the international community is obliged to react to that".

With these executions, number of those executed in the first 12 days of the year 2011 reaches 36 people.
