Six Prisoners Hanged in Southwestern Iran this Morning

Iran Human Rights, August 14: Six prisoners were hanged in Karoun Prison in Ahwaz (southwestern Iran) early this morning, reported Iranian state media.

The charges for the prisoners, who were not identified by full name, including raping ten women in Shushter (a city also in the province of Khuzestan).The charges have not been confirmed by independent sources.

Four of the prisoners were identified as Ali Naz, Ali Hossein, Mohammad, and Nobar.

Today’s executions are the first after a brief break in executions during the month of Ramadan.
