Adham Narouyi

Adham Narouyi is a 25-year-old Baluch man who was working as a sookhtbar (person who carries fuel across the border). He was arrested on 25 May 2021 in relation to an armed clash that ensued in Sirchah after security forces opened fire on a car, killing two of Mohammad Zeinoldini’s relatives. The man responsible for firing back at the security forces was killed at the scene. Adham was held incommunicado for nine months and denied access to a lawyer. He was subjected to torture that included electric shocks, flogging with plastic cables and pipes, to force confessions to the killings. Under pressure, Adham attempted suicide on 30 May 2024. He was transferred to the Khatam al-Anbiya Hospital and returned to prison five days later. After his mother and sisters’ multiple attempts to follow up on his case at the court and prison, they were told, “your son will be executed” by officials. Adham is currently held in Zahedan Central Prison where he could be executed at any time.
