Ali Abidavi

Ali Abidavi is an Ahvazi Arab man in his 20s. Prior to his arrest, he was a farmer and civil activist who took part in poetry nights. Ali was arrested with his brother Hossein sometime in 2019-2020 and accused of an attack on the IRGC building in Hamidieh. Little information is available about his case as his family have been threatened into silence. Ali is reported to be suffering from physical and mental health issues due to the torture and ill-treatment in Mahshahr Prison where he is held.

STATUS: Sentenced to death by the Mahshahr Revolutionary Court on 21 January 2024.
